When I first met Danii & Michael, we were outside my studio. I was on the way to Thursdayfest and we had a quick little meeting to finalize our plans and make plans for their engagement shoot. Before Danii even said a word, I knew I liked her. She has the most positive energy and she gushed about their daughter, who was being adorable in the back seat. They were already one of the cutest families I had ever met and I had only known them for about 5 minutes.
Fast forward to their engagement session. I was working hard to time the sunset just right for the perfect dreamy photos. It was fall, and the sun was setting earlier and earlier. When we got to the location, it was quickly going down, but we raced the sun and got some of the most beautiful photos! They even got into the lake for some playful photos at the end. Michael was such a trooper.
Watching them at their engagement session and again on their wedding day, it was easy to see why they are such a perfect fit. They have a friendship like none other and the most important thing that I could see is that they show up for one another. There’s a book about that! “Keep Showing Up!” As simple as that sounds, it’s not always the case. But these two do. They just keep showing up for each other and for their daughter. They have a strong bond and it’s beautiful to witness!
Their friends and family also showed up… it was such a great party! They had the perfect day surrounded by so many people that love them. Tucked away from the world alongside the Stillwater River.. it was beyond dreamy. Nothing could go wrong on a day like that.
They poured a year of love and support into their big day. Danii made all of the signs and she did the photobooth too! Family and friends showed up to set everything up and it turned out amazing.
They had a special table set up for loved ones who had passed on too soon, including Michael’s sister, who had a special spot reserved during the ceremony, in the front row. They honored Amber all day and I am not going to lie, I cried again when I was editing these. The speeches were so special and everyone came together to raise a glass.
I loved every moment of your love story, so far, and I am so lucky to have been there to photograph so much of it! I can’t wait to watch you two grow in love and, also, bring some more baby Hamblins into the world!
