I was one of the very first vendors that Cory and Ben booked for their August 20th wedding. The first step was deciding where and they chose the iconic Fairmont Hot Springs in Anaconda, MT. I had never photographed a wedding there, but it’s one of my family’s most favorite vacation spots, so we packed up the kiddos and our Berner, Bailey, and hit the road!
The way down was… eventful (a story for another time) and we got there a little before 8pm. When we walked over to the restaurant, I ran into the gorgeous bride and her AMAZING bridesmaids as they were putting the final touches on the next day’s nuptials. I immediately knew that their special day would be as amazing as ever. Not only was my couple already one of my favorites, ever, but seeing the support and hustle from their friends and family, this was already one of my favorite weddings to date and we hadn’t even started yet!
The next morning started like any other, except we had Lamberson Media there documenting the day as well! We LOVE Jesse. He’s one of the best and so polite and kind and just an all-around good guy. The girls were sipping mimosas while we photographed the details and the energy in that room was unforgettable. Like I said, the love and support that day was overwhelming and we could all feel it! Cory is a lucky girl to have such a great girl group.
The daddy/daughter first look had us all . I always cry with the Daddy things but oh my goodness. I bawled my eyes out again while editing!
Then it was time for the bride and groom first look (after a makeup touch up, of course ) It was so very fitting for these two. They were so excited to see each other, and we got the best glimpse into, not only their love story, but their friendship as well.
We had the perfect day with the most perfect weather. The grounds at the resort are stunning and even with the smoke, we were still able to get that view in our backdrop!
Okay, and I just have to tell you the coolest thing I have ever seen in all my years photographing weddings… they had a CHEESEBURGER bar at their reception. Cheeseburgers. If you know me at all, you know I could have a cheeseburger every day and I would be happy. It’s right up there with tacos! Just another reason why this couple was so amazing. You can learn a lot about a person based on their food choice
The reception was a total blast. At one point, a group of family members surprised the couple with a hilarious stunt. Scroll down to see what they brought to the party! And keeping up with the theme, after we left for the night, the bridesmaids ended the night by jumping into the hot springs in their dresses! It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.
It was an absolute honor to capture their day. I’m still in awe of how beautiful it was and I have been counting down the hours until I could share these images!!
Special thanks to all of the wonderful vendors!
