A “Sweet 16” Anniversary – Personal Post

This Friday marks 16 years of marriage for Morgan and I!

I came up with the idea for a “sweet 16” anniversary shoot with about two week’s notice for the outfits, the cake, the flowers and our photographer, Amber Cain with Amber Lynn Photography! (We were so lucky she had the day open for us!) Since it was a tiny bit short notice, I ended up making the bouquet using our original wedding flowers (all those years ago🙈)

I also made the cake, which worked out perfectly because two of our best friends were celebrating their One Year Anniversary the same day as our shoot! We decided to surprise them with it and lots of love as soon as we were done.  Can you tell anniversaries are a super big deal to me?

My dress came just in time and by some kind of miracle, it actually fit and I actually didn’t hate how it looked on me 😂 and I decided to incorporate a floppy hat, similar to the ones my bridesmaids wore! I think my bestie Coty still has hers! 😍

Morgan went all out with his OG dapper attire and brought back the white tie! He even shaved his face, which I wasn’t sure I would be very thrilled about since his beard is my favorite, but he looked so handsome, it was the perfect look for these photos.

Thanks to Amber, we found the most amazing venue at Block Fifty in downtown Kalispell, that brought everything together and she was so amazing throughout the entire experience, Morgan even praised her with how comfortable he was, and that’s a big deal since we all know he’s never the most thrilled to do photos 😂  And okay, this is crazy because I had the idea to bring our fancy Kate Spade “his” and “hers” beer glasses that my bestie Kristin got me, since one of the loves we share is beer, so we picked up a case of Pabst Blue Ribbon on our way. When we got there, the owner told us that the building used to be the The Kalispell Malting & Brewing Company and was once owned by Captain Frederick Pabst (as in Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer)! I just thought that was the craziest coincidence and loved that of all the beers to bring, that was the one we chose!

This was such a fun shoot for us. We have been all in for 20 years and although our relationship has had it’s challenges throughout the years, we always find our way back to the same path, and it’s always you and me, forever and ever babe.

I love you, happiest of anniversaries! I can’t wait to celebrate with you this weekend!
