I met Kelsey & Tanner over zoom and loved hearing about their love story. They seemed like the perfect fit for each other and for me!
We didn’t have a chance to meet in person until a week before the big day at their engagement session. They took me to a special property near Whitefish that Kelsey’s mom grew up on. It was secluded and dreamy and it would have been 100% perfect, except Tanner was horribly allergic to the surroundings! He was a trooper, though, and the photos turned out amazing. I caught a glimpse into who they were as a couple and it was even better than when we met the first time. I remember texting Liz right when I left and gushing about how amazing they were.
Fast forward a week later on July 9th, it was finally the big day and it was a gorgeous day at that! We showed up to Kelsey’s parent’s house and the girls were well on their way to their wedding day looks. The boys were in the basement anxiously awaiting the start to the festivities! The color palate was a dream come true with fresh peonies everywhere and classic and sentimental details like Tanner wearing his grandfather’s cufflinks and Kelsey’s round diamond engagement ring. Her dress could not have been more perfect for her. She is one of those timeless brides that looked like she stepped right out of a Turner Classic Movie.
The wedding party was one of our favorites we have ever had. They were joyful and supportive and so kind! We tried a new groomsman pose and we may or may not have broken the groom, but the photos came out fun and Tanner was a great sport for trying it!
They planned an open air reception with one of the prettiest Montana backdrops I have ever seen. The tables were set up beautifully for dinner from Finley Point Grill and a dance floor perfectly placed in the middle of the party for all the fun that Montana Pro DJ was going to be bringing!
They got married in their family church in Pablo, MT. Right before the processional started and everyone was getting ready to walk down the aisle, a huge thunderstorm rolled through and it was headed straight for their reception venue! No one let it get them down and the ceremony was beautiful and touching.
When we got back to the reception, everyone was immediately on rain clean up and spirits were high! Kelsey & Tanner dealt with the weather mishap grace and gratitude for everyone who was helping! We only had one more little shower during dinner, and everyone put those pretty pink napkins to good use weathering the storm! Luckily, the skies opened up and gave us such a beautiful glowy evening and absolutely stunning sunset. The guests danced until it was too dark to see. All in all, it was the perfect day!
We were honored to be there and thrilled to capture it. Here are a few of our favorites to show off all of your hard work and I definitely want to give a little shout out to all of the amazing vendors for making this day possible:
